Asylum

What is Asylum?

Asylum seekers flee their home country to seek protection in the United States.  In order to be granted asylum, you must prove  that you have a credible fear to return to your country because of a past or future persecution  based on your  race, religion, nationality, political opinion or a membership in a particular social group.  Financial hardship is not a valid reason to seek asylum. You must apply for asylum within one year of entering the United States.

As your asylum attorney, Mr. Michael Kiran  and his team will go through many of the steps required in this type of case, including:

  • Complete and submit the application
  • Secure, review and submit evidence needed to demonstrate your fear of persecution in your home country
  • Be your voice in asylum interviews
  • Appear in court on your behalf

Granted Asylum

Once your Asylum is  granted, you will be able to obtain a work permit,  green card, and ultimately apply for US citizenship.

This approval will benefit also you spouse and children named  on your application. Your dependents may also apply for work permits and adjustment of status to become a  lawful permanent resident status. This means you and your family members will be green card holders. As a legal permanent resident of the United States,  you can live and work anywhere in the country.
